As part of efforts to make life healthier for the residents of Ekiti State, the Rotary reproductive maternal and child health in collaboration with the Ekiti State Ministry of Health and Primary Healthcare Development Agency have organised a joint partners community medical outreach for the residents of Adere, in Ado-Ekiti.
Speaking at the event, the Project Manager, Rotary Action Group for Maternal and Child Health, Mr. Toyosi Adebanbo said the outreaches in the state was as a result of its vision that every pregnant woman and child live and not die as a result of preventable deaths.
Mr. Adebanbo noted that the joint health outreach aimed at attending to at least 350 residents of the state, adding that the initiative would improve access to life-saving services and address the rising maternal health issues.
The Project Manager noted that the Rotary has been implementing their plans, leveraging their four major pillars on capacity building, community engagement, health system strengthening, advocacy and partnership to reduce high prevalence of maternal and child mortality in Nigeria.



He expressed delight at the impressive turn out of beneficiaries, urging residents to always come for such outreaches which he noted would provide access to free and quality services such as family planning, malaria tests and treatment, hepatitis, HIV screening as well as free consultation and medication.
In her remarks, the Ekiti state reproductive health Coordinator and Health Educator, Dr. Busayo Ige said the state government has made significant efforts at improving the health and wellbeing of Ekiti State residents.
Dr. Ige disclosed that the state government has made family planning commodities and services available, provided free malaria tests,treatment, promoting a healthy lifestyle amongst other steps.
She noted that the free medical outreach involved a range of comprehensive health services, including free eye tests and glasses, consultation, medical check-ups and treatment, family planning services, among others.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Joshua Bolorunduro lauded the Rotary and Ekiti State Government for the intervention, stating that the initiative would further improve the health and well being of the resident of the community and Ekiti as a whole
