The Senate has on Wednesday confirmed the 7 new ministers nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari to replace the ministers that resigned prior to the party’s primary election.
The confirmed nominees are Henry Ikechukwu – Abia State, Umana Umana – Akwa Ibom State; Ekumankama Nkama- Ebonyi State and Goodluck Opiah – Imo State.
Umar El-Yakub – Kano State; Ademola Adegoroye – Ondo State; and Odum Udi – Rivers State.
The ministers were asked a series of questions on the economy, security, and education among others.
The ministers immediately after their screening exercise on Wednesday which lasted close to 5 hours were confirmed via voice votes put across to members by the senate president.
Recalled that upon the resignation of the former ministers, President Buhari had sent the 7 names to the red chamber for screening and confirmation as ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
