Former Senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, Senator Ayodele Arise, has congratulated the immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, on the occasion of his 61st birthday, describing him as a statesman whose leadership footprints continue to shape governance in Ekiti State, Nigeria and beyond.
In a congratulatory message, Senator Arise applauded Dr. Fayemi’s, visionary approach to governance, intellectual depth and commitment to democratic ideals, which distinguished him as one of Nigeria’s finest public servants.
The former lawmaker particularly commended Fayemi’s far-reaching impacts in Ekiti State as a two term governor, noting that several people-oriented policies, institutional reforms and development initiatives implemented during his tenure left enduring benefits in the state.
Senator Arise also highlighted Fayemi’s outstanding national and international roles, especially his tenure as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), where he brought stability, cohesion and strategic direction to the forum at a critical period in Nigeria’s democratic evolution.
According to him, Fayemi’s service as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria further showcased his capacity for thoughtful leadership, policy coordination and constructive engagement, adding that his interventions in governance, conflict resolution and democratic advocacy have promoted accountability and good governance across the country.
“Dr. Kayode Fayemi remains a symbol of purposeful leadership, courage and intellectual consistency. His contributions to governance in Ekiti State, his stabilising role at the Governors’ Forum and his service at the federal level have left indelible marks that will continue to guide present and future leaders,” Senator Arise said.
