The Executive Chairman of Ifeloju Local Council Development Area, Ilupeju Ekiti, Hon Olusola Michael Oniyelu has again reiterated his commitment to ensuring residents of the LCDA are properly protected as they strive to make ends meet.
He said several measures have been put in place to allay the fear of insecurity in the LCDA. He said ,the Lion Suad, a security outfit of the LCDA are working with other security officers to secure the five communities day and night including the bushes .He however charged them to shun night travelling, returning home late at night and going out without telling someone their whereabout.
Hon Olusola Oniyelu gave the assurance and advice while playing host to members of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Online Chapel, Ekiti State Coucil at his office on Wednesday.
The LCDA Boss said, “it’s imperative to inform one or two persons about your movement, the era of no body should know your movement is gone, considering the spate of kidnappings and killings. it’s imperative to always walk with people, walking alone this time may be dangerous.”
Adding that residents and communities should be conscious of their environment and report suspicious movement to the appropriate authorities for immediate action.Saying their safety is important to him.
Hon Oniyelu commended the governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji for ensuring the rescue of the kidnapped pupils and teachers of The Apostolic Nursery and Primary School, as he sympathized with the families and communities of the murdered Obas. He prayed God to console them and put an end to such act in Ekiti state.
Earlier, Chairman online media chapel, Comrade Ayodele Abere had solicited the cooperation of the chairman to projecting the activities of the LCDA, as he said many activities are going on in local Government and LCDA but were not properly reported.
Responding, Hon Oniyelu consented to the request, saying politics, media relations and Publicity are inseparable.
In attendance at the meeting were: The Financial officer of the LCDA, Mr Temitope Jemiseye, the information officer, Mr Osalade Festus, Comrade Law Ibitoye, Financial Secretary NUJ, Comrade , Emmanuel Adeniran and Comrade Dema Atobaba.
