The Rector , Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Engr Dr. Temitope John Alake has charged the newly admitted students on time management, saying the level of success attained is determined by proper usage of time .
The Rector further urged the students to shun anti social activities that can truncate their academic pursuit on campus.
Engr Temitope gave these charges at the Matriculation ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic session held on the school premises on Friday. The Rector reiterated that the institution upholds discipline, integrity and respect. According to him , “The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti maintains a strict zero- tolerance policy against all forms of anti- social and unethical behavior online or offline. These include but are not limited to Examination malpractice, prostitution, cultism, sexual harassment, hooliganism, gangsterism, corruption, bribery and all forms of internet fraud ”
The Rector who stressed that the institution placed a high premium on compulsory attendance of lectures, admonished the students to take their assignments serious and face their studies squarely so as not to prolong their stay on campus.
Engr Temitope tasked the students to embrace acquisition of professional trade that would make themselves reliance and employers of labour. The Rector said” Currently, our institution offers training in three key skills which are fully equipped: Welding, fashion Design, Event management and more skills. Saying, our students not only graduate but with one or two skilled professionals that would make them conquer the world. The Rector stated .
While assuring the students of a conducive learning environment, the Rector reiterated that the school management has provided cutting -edge facilities aimed at ensuring educational experience that aligns with best practices. Adding that there is access to textbooks, instructional materials, sporting and relaxation facilities, information and communication technology (ICT), health facilities, municipal services, communication channels, adequate security and scholarship award for outstanding students.
The Rector reiterated that Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti is known for : Discipline, integrity, Creativity, excellence and teamwork. These principles are not just fanciful words; they are the pillars upon which we build an institution that nurtures minds, transforms lives and shapes future to achieve our core values, vision and mission statement, the Rector added.
