The Commissioner for Youth Development in Ekiti State, Hon. Adesola Gold Adedayo, has extolled President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for striking a strong cord of relationship with Governor Biodun Oyebanji to rebuild the state and turn it into a land of prosperity for the citizens.
Adedayo gave the glowing commendation in Ado Ekiti, on Thursday, during a chat with a group of youths, who came to solidarise with the governor on his second term bid.
Adedayo, who is the coordinator of APC electronic- registration exercise in the state, saluted President Tinubu for setting Nigeria on a faster pace of economic prosperity and recovery, and for lending support to Governor Oyebanji to be able to deliver dividends of democracy to the citizens.
The commissioner said even Governor Oyebanji had at various times acknowledged the fact that Tinubu-led Government has done exceedingly well for the state, in terms of improved federal presence, urging the citizens to continually pray for the success of his administration.
Essentially, the commissioner praised the President for approving a Nigerian Army 148 Batallion Base in Ekiti to secure the populace, describing the approval as a game changer for agriculture revolution and youth attraction into commercial farming.
Besides the foregoing, Adedayo disclosed that approval for vital facilities like: construction of Ita Ore-Aramoko-Igede-Ado Road, Ado-Ikere-Akure road and the establishment of the Federal University, Iyin Ekiti, by the President, are launching Ekiti to a more rewarding and higher pedestal in the comity of states.
Adedayo also said, the President had succeeded in lifting Ekiti citizens to national prominence in terms of political appointments, revealing that the state enjoyed the best patronage ever under Tinubu, since the advent of democracy in 1999.
He assured that the second term of Governor Oyebanji will be more beneficial to the citizens, stating that Ekiti can’t afford to be in the opposition with Tinubu presiding at the centre.
“Ekiti has never had it so good as we are witnessing under President Tinubu in terms of infrastructures and political patronage. We are indeed grateful for the partnership between these two great leaders of our time.
“The Army Batallion Base established in Ekiti has helped secured the farm settlements with modern facilities provided by Governor Oyebanji to attract youth into agriculture.
“All the six dormitories are secured and we’ll guarded by military men. Last December, a sum of one billion naira was distributed to over 4,000 youth farmers as dividends. This was made possible by effective security we have on ground.
“In the June 20 governorship election, Ekiti people have no option than to allow Governor Oyebanji to lead till 2030, so that this effective and beneficial partnership can continue”.
On the ongoing APC electronic registration of members, Adedayo said the programme was conceptualised to shore up the grassroots support base for the party ahead of 2026 and 2027 general elections.
