Former Senator Ayo Arise has expressed strong confidence that the policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth and long-term development.
Arise made the assertion on Tuesday while fielding questions from journalists on Tuesday during his ward tour in Isan Ekiti, as part of his ongoing consultations across Ekiti North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former lawmaker who had toured the 56 wards of Ekiti North, said the current administration’s bold reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy, were necessary steps to correct long-standing economic distortions and curb systemic corruption. According to him, the subsidy removal has freed up resources that are now being redirected into critical sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, and education, which he noted would have far-reaching benefits for Nigerians.

Arise also commended the Federal Government’s push towards alternative energy, including gas-powered and electric vehicles, describing it as a forward-looking initiative aimed at reducing dependence on petrol and stabilizing energy costs.
Speaking further, he highlighted measures introduced by the government to cushion the impact of the reforms on citizens, noting that support systems are being implemented to ease economic pressures on vulnerable populations.
On grassroots development, Arise praised the policy of direct allocation to local governments, describing it as a landmark achievement that would enhance service delivery, ensure prompt payment of salaries, and accelerate development at the community level. He equally lauded ongoing tax reforms, pointing out that low-income earners are now exempted from tax obligations, while higher-income individuals are expected to contribute more fairly to national development.
Addressing security concerns, the former senator reiterated his support for state policing, arguing that community-based security frameworks would improve intelligence gathering and response time. He added that federal plans to deploy surveillance technology in volatile areas would further strengthen the country’s security architecture.
Arise reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared his intention to return to the Senate, pledging to continue supporting policies that would move the nation forward. He maintained that with sustained implementation and collective support, the Tinubu administration’s reforms would ultimately reposition Nigeria for prosperity and stability.
Senator Arise called on residents across Ekiti state and Nigeria re-elect president Bola Tinubu in 2027 and Governor Biodun Oyebanji in June 20th Elections.
