Former Senator Biodun Olujimi has said tough decisions made by president Tinubu not only to revamp Nigeria economy but re-build the nation towards self sufficiency made her joined All Progressives Congress (APC)
The former minority leader who applauded the bold steps of the president in taking tough decisions, stick firm and run with them would ameliorate age long challenges hampering development of Nigeria.
Senator Olujimi,who formerly resigned from Peoples Democratic Party and joined All Progressives Congress at the statewide endorsement of president Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji at Ekiti Parapo Pavilion on Monday, in an interview, confirmed that former leaders of the country were afraid to take decisions that would make the country progress. According to her, Our former leaders always look back and rescind their decisions when the masses cried that things were tough and that was why we could not solve our problems.
She said” I have been part of government , most leaders cannot take tough decisions and stand by them but I have seen this government ( APC) at the center and Ekiti taking tough decisions, standing firm by them and not minding whose horse is gorged, that’s the only way our country and society can be transformed for the masses to enjoy.”
Senator Olujimi said she thought it wise to contribute her quota to the growth and development of Ekiti state and Nigeria at this precarious time that Nigeria needs progressive minds to rebuild her. Before president Tinubu assumed office, the economy has been bastardised, a lot of structures have been crumbled, prices of foods stuff have gone up but I saw a renewal as the president gathered best brains and put in place policies to rebuild Nigeria towards given dividends of democracy to the masses, senator Olujimi said.
She added that policies of president Tinubu have started yielding results especially, in Education, health, economy and Agriculture, saying prices of foods stuff have drastically reduced compared to when he assumed office. While urging Nigerians to always endure when policies are put in place by government, she said eighteen month was not enough to rate the performance of any government.Some policies and reforms may take three years for results, Olujimi enlightened Nigerians.
Speaking on why she did not pitch her tent with African Democratic Congress(ADC) Senator Olujimi said, “I was originally to the Progressives, I was in APP and ANPP where I was the national publicity Secretary that merged with APC. I cannot join a party that has no structure , ideology and I don’t see the party making waves in 2027 general election . Senator Olujimi said.
Senator Biodun Olujimi didnot deny her love for her former party (PDP) She said ” PDP gave me numerous opportunities to add value to the party, government and myself but the journey became very cumbersome as we navigate to return to power. However, there is a stage in life when you take your destiny in your hand”
