Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has pleaded with Widows across the sixteen local government areas of the state to ensure their registration and collection of their permanent Voters cards.
She made this known during the distribution of foodstuffs and other goods to widows at Ikere, Emure and Ise local government areas.
The Governor’s wife who was represented by the Widow Aged and Orphan Hope Foundation, WAOH, Mrs Kemi Fadairo noted that the step became imperative most especially for those who have misplaced their PVC and for those who registered far away from their present places of abodes.
According to her, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, would soon open their portal to commence registration for all categories of individuals who are planning to participate in the voting process of the coming election.
She harped on the importance of having PVC, saying it remained the power they would use to ensure the continuity of the present government during the forthcoming elections.
Also, the Senior Special Assistant on Political matters to Governor’s wife, Mrs Toyin Adepoju also appealed to the benefiting widows to come out on the Election Day to vote for the candidate of their choice.
She told the widows to make themselves available for all the benefits of the government saying the wife of the Governor has been empowering the aged citizens in the state through her Pet project, known as WAOH.
The governor’s wife aide therefore challenged the elderly citizens to prioritize their health by eating good foods and visiting public health care centres regularly.
