Relentless efforts will continue to be geared towards putting smiles on faces of the people, through various government programmes and interventions aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the needy.
The Wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji stated this in Otun ward one in Otun Ekiti while distributing food items to some residents of the ancient town.
The food items which included; Rice, Beans, Gaari, Salt, Spaghetti and Cash gift was distributed as a way of cushion the economic situation in the country and as a way of supporting the needy in Ekiti State.
The Governor’s wife who was represented by the Coordinator of her pet project, Widows, Aged and Orphan Hope Initiative who is also an indigene of the town, Mrs Kemi Dairo expressed concern that people who needed such assistance were numerous going by the prevalent economic condition and promised that it would be done in phases to capture as many as possible.
She therefore sought the support of the entire people of Moba Local Government with the present administration while assuring them that the economic condition would soon get better.
The First Lady highlighted various intervention programmes of her office aimed at reducing people’s sufferings to include taking care of the aged, sponsoring the education of orphans, empowering the widows, training of the unemployed youths in Adire Ekiti making among many others.
She however described the gesture as a way of generously promoting the well being of Ekiti people.
In their separate remarks, Some of the dignitaries at the occasion including the Director General Ekiti State Waste Management Authority, Mr Olasunkanmi Onipede, the chairman of Moba Local Government, Mr Bamidele Fadogba appreciated the gesture adding that the present administration would continue to receive the support of Moba people owing to various developmental projects executed across the state by the State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji.
