Youth Commissioner, Wife Empower 400 Women, Children to Promote Oyebanji’s Welfare Scheme in Ekiti
In a bid to promote the welfare and social intervention programmes of the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji at the grassroots, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon Gold Adesola Adedayo and his wife, Dr Gold…. Adedayo, have empowered 400 women and children in Moba Local Government Area of the State.
The programme, according to the financiers, was part of the policies targeted at promoting Oyebanji’s anti-poverty and social intervention programmes across the 11 wards in the council Area.
The programme attracted a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including political leaders, party chieftains, Iyalojas, women leaders from all the wards in Moba Local Government, traditional community representatives and other concerned citizens who converged to witness and support the humanitarian intervention.
Items distributed to beneficiaries included financial support, food items and clothing for women, as well as stationeries and food items for children, aimed at improving household stability and supporting education and nutrition.
Speaking at the event held at Bolaji Event Cent in Osun Ekiti, Moba Council Area, Adedayo, described the intervention as a way of palliating the sufferings of the masses and alleviate poverty as enshrined in the policy thrust of the current Ekiti government.
He said the programme being prosecuted under the acronym ” Gold for BAO/ BAO Humanitarian Support Empowerment Scheme, was specifically conceptualised to fight poverty and promote the concept of inclusion being elevated by Oyebanji’s administration.
The commissioner was enthralled with how Governor Oyebanji was making every stratum of the society relevant in governance, especially the rural dwellers.
Adedayo revealed that in this edition, an aggregate of 200 women and 200 children selected across the 11 wards of Moba Local Government Area benefited from the programme.
Adedayo reiterated that the programme is in line with Oyebanji’s Shared Prosperity agenda, which places strong emphasis on human capital development, social inclusion and deliberate support for vulnerable groups.
Also speaking, the commissioner’s wife, who is a medical practitioner, saluted Governor Oyebanji for prioritising the welfare of ordinary citizens of the state as reflected in the zealous prosecution of social intervention programmes of government.
Dr Adedayo appreciated the traditional rulers, civil servants, market men and women , youth groups and children for reciprocating the government’s gestures and solidly displaying backing for Oyebanji’s government to achieve success across the thematic areas of the economy.
The beneficiaries expressed happiness and gratitude, describing the intervention as thoughtful and timely, praising the organisers for their consistency and commitment to uplifting women and children at the grassroots level.
They stated that the empowerment programme further reinforced the resolve of the Gold4BAO and BAO Humanitarian Support platform to complement government initiatives and ensure sustainable impact within local communities.
