Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti Central Senatorial District have declared strong support for the re-election of the Senate Leader, Michael Opeyemi
Bamidele, as he dismissed concerns over the growing influence of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Speaking with journalists after a strategic party meeting in Ado Ekiti, Bamidele described claims of divided loyalty within the APC as exaggerated, insisting that the party remains cohesive despite ongoing political realignments.
He noted that while emerging platforms like the ADC may attempt to attract members, such moves have not significantly impacted the APC’s structure. The Senate Leader urged party members to remain focused, warning against unnecessary panic and emphasizing unity as the party’s greatest strength.

Addressing stakeholders at his office in Ajilosun, Bamidele stressed that cohesion within the party is non-negotiable, cautioning that opposition elements are closely monitoring developments and could exploit any internal division ahead of forthcoming elections.
On party primaries, he reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and internal democracy, stating that all aspirants would be allowed to participate in line with party guidelines. He added that while consensus remains an option, it must be widely accepted at the ward level, noting that any disagreement would necessitate direct primaries.
Reflecting on a December 2025 stakeholders’ meeting held in his country home, Bamidele recalled the unanimous endorsement he received from leaders across Ekiti Central, describing it as a humbling demonstration of trust and unity. He pledged to continue delivering effective representation and justify the confidence reposed in him.
Highlighting his scorecard, the Senate Leader pointed to ongoing infrastructure and social intervention projects across the district, including road construction, solar streetlight installations, educational support programmes, and improvements in healthcare services. He also cited ongoing efforts to strengthen Ekiti State University and advance the establishment of a Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences.
In separate remarks, the APC State Chairman, Sola Elesin Omoleye, called for intensified grassroots mobilization ahead of the governorship election, while the Secretary to the State Government, Habibat Omolara Adubiaro, described Ekiti Central as a united political bloc committed to the party’s success.
Other dignitaries at the meeting included Chief Oguntuase, Dr. Femi Thomas, Mrs. Modupe Ogunsaya, local government chairmen, councillors, ward leaders, women and youth leaders, elders, and party stakeholders from across the district, all of whom pledged continued loyalty and support for the APC and the re-election bid of Senator Bamidele.
