A leading aspirant for the Ekiti North Senatorial seat, Ayo Arise, has intensified preparations for the 2027 primary election with the inauguration of canvassers in three local government areas—Ilejemeje, Moba, and Ido/Osi—to mobilise support among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The inauguration, carried out on behalf of the aspirant by the Director General of the campaign organisation, George Fadipe, saw the appointment of six canvassers per local government area and another six per ward, forming a coordinated grassroots structure ahead of the party primaries.
Speaking at the events, Fadipe charged the canvassers to remain upright, diligent, and loyal, stressing that their role is critical to securing victory for Arise at the primaries. He described the aspirant as the most competent among contenders, citing his track record and capacity to represent the district effectively.

He also dismissed speculations of any endorsement of rival aspirants within the district, describing such claims as unfounded and contrary to established democratic processes. According to him, the party’s constitution and the Electoral Act clearly define how candidates emerge, warning against attempts to bypass due process.
Fadipe further reassured party members and supporters of Arise of protection against intimidation or harassment, noting that the aspirant remains committed to safeguarding their interests throughout the political process.
Earlier, a former chairman of Oye Local Government and Ifeloju LCDA, Comrade Tunde Ogunmilugba, said the mobilisation structure would drive aggressive grassroots engagement to ensure Arise’s emergence as the APC candidate. He urged canvassers to justify the confidence placed in them by working assiduously toward the victory of senator Ayo Arise.
As part of the mobilisation strategy, ward canvassers are expected to recruit an additional ten canvassers per polling unit, further expanding the campaign’s reach across the senatorial district.
The move signals a major push by the Arise campaign to consolidate support at the grassroots level as political activities gather momentum ahead of the APC senatorial primaries.
