As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu marks three years in office, a Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Senator. Ayo Arise has applauded the administration for staying focused on economic recovery, security, and national transformation despite global and domestic headwinds.
In a statement issued in Oye Ekiti, Senator Arise said the President’s economic reforms over the last three years have laid a foundation for long-term growth and investor confidence.
“President Tinubu took bold steps on subsidy removal, FX unification, and fiscal reforms when it mattered most. Those decisions were tough, but they were necessary to stop the bleeding and reposition Nigeria’s economy. Today, we are seeing gradual stability, increased revenue to states, and renewed interest from investors. That is leadership,” he said.
On security, the APC Stalwart commended the administration’s sustained investment in troops, equipment, and intelligence, noting that security agencies are working harder to reclaim territory and restore order across the country.
“Nigeria’s security challenges did not start in 2023, but the commitment to confront them head-on is clearer now. The President’s quest to transform the country will only succeed if citizens are safe, and this administration is working hard on that front,” he added.
Sen. Arise also praised President Tinubu for allowing a credible, fair, and transparent process during the APC presidential primaries in 2022, which he described as a benchmark for internal democracy in the party.
“In 2022, the President ensured that party members were allowed to choose freely. That example strengthened confidence in APC and in his democratic credentials. It is in that same spirit that I respectfully urge Mr. President to direct a review of the recent APC Senatorial primary in Ekiti North Senatorial District,” Sen. Arise stated.
He noted concerns raised by stakeholders over the conduct of the Ekiti North primary, including allegations of irregularities and the exclusion of result sheets at the ward level.
“A fair review will not weaken the party. It will strengthen it. If the APC is to deliver Ekiti for Mr. President in 2027 and retain the governorship in 2026, then justice and transparency must be seen to be done at every level, including our primaries,” he said.
Senator Arise congratulated President Tinubu and Nigerians on the 3rd anniversary and prayed for wisdom and strength for the president as he drives the Renewed Hope Agenda into its next phase.
