Petty and roadside traders in Ilawe-Ekiti, Ekiti State under the aegis of Itesiwaju BAO Group on Thursday declared that the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji has not compromised in fulfilling his campaign promises.
The group made the declaration in Ilawe-Ekiti when they formally endorsed the governor for another tenure ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
Coordinator of the group in Ilawe-Ekiti, Okunoye Kehinde said that the governor has exemplified purposeful leadership by prioritizing the welfare of its members.
She recounted how the governor donated cash gifts to petty and roadside traders in the area while declaring that they would stand behind the re-election of the governor for more developments in the state.
According to her, “there is nothing we are looking for that we won’t get from Governor Oyebanji. Our children will get jobs and opportunities will come. Let us follow him because he doesn’t compromise on his promises.”
In the same vein, Chairman of Ekiti South West Local Government, Hon Apolola Richard highlighted the achievements of the governor in the area and pledged to stand behind his re-election ahead of the poll.
He seized the opportunity to commend the group for identifying with Governor Oyebanji saying that the initiative is unprecedented and a show of love to appreciate the good works of the governor.
His words: “The government of Oyebanji is good to the people of Ilawe-Ekiti. In fact, the people believe that he is their son. We are with him 100% because during the election, we are going to deliver for his re-election.”
Responding, Director General, Bureau of Community Communications, Mary Omotosho, represented by the Hon. Toyin Tuase commended the group for the endorsement while urging them to ensure that they get their voters cards ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
