
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the appointment of Professor Andrew Babatunde Omojola as the new Vice Chancellor of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI).
Prof. Omojola, an accomplished scholar in Animal Science with a speciality in Animal Products, Processing, and Food Safety, currently serves as the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ibadan. His appointment takes immediate effect.

Special Adviser (Media) to the Governor, Ekiti State on Monday says the new VC succeeds Prof. Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa, whose tenure as Vice Chancellor ends on January 6, 2026.
Born on August 14, 1962, in Usi-Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area, Prof. Omojola attended Notre Dame College, Usi-Ekiti, between 1976 and 1980 before proceeding to the University of Ibadan in 1984. He graduated with Second Class Upper Division in Animal Science in 1988, earned his Master’s degree in 1991, and completed his Ph.D. in 1997—all from the University of Ibadan.
He began his academic career in 1997 as Lecturer II at the University of Ibadan and rose to the rank of Professor in 2011. Over the years, he has served in various capacities, including Visiting Professor at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana (2013–2019); External Examiner at the University of Calabar (2012–2016) and Osun State University, Osogbo (2015–2018).
Prof. Omojola also previously headed the Animal Products and Processing Unit (2000–2023), directed the UI Teaching and Research Farm (2016–2018), and has been a member of the University of Ibadan Senate since 2011. He is currently the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, and has chaired the Committee of Deans, Heads of Departments, and Directors.
Governor Oyebanji, who serves as the Visitor to BOUESTI, urged the new Vice Chancellor to deploy his extensive academic and administrative experience toward advancing the institution’s quest to become a world-class university. He wished him a successful tenure.
The Governor also expressed appreciation to the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adeoluwa, for his dedicated and impactful service to the university and wished him well in his future endeavours.
