Young boys and girls have been urged to guard against sexual abuse and any behaviour capable of derailing their dreams and future aspirations.
This warning was issued by Professor of Medicine, Babatunde Olofinbiyi, while delivering a lecture at the 25th Anniversary Symposium and Scholarship Award Ceremony of the 1994–2000 Set of Christ School and Christ Girls’ School, Ado Ekiti.
Speaking on the topic “Living Well: Understanding Your Reproductive Health and Protecting It,” Prof. Olofinbiyi lamented the rising cases of sexual abuse and unsafe abortions among teenagers. He noted that many young girls had lost their lives due to risky sexual practices and urged students to stay away from “undue lust and pressure” that could expose them to harm.

A former Commissioner for Education in Ekiti State and past Principal of the school, Mr. Kehinde Ojo, also described the 1994–2000 set as exceptional. He commended the positive impact of their annual homecoming activities and encouraged current students to dream big and work towards a bright future.
Earlier in his address, Chairman of the set, Mr. Tosin Ayorinde, represented by the Vice Chairman, said Christ School was more than an academic institution, describing it as a place where character, discipline and values were nurtured for life-long success.
As part of activities marking the 25th anniversary, the set awarded scholarships to the best three students in the junior and senior classes of both the boys’ and girls’ schools, with cash prizes ranging from ₦200,000 to ₦300,000. The group also donated 3,000 exercise books to support students of the two schools.
