The Executive Secretary of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), Engr. Cornelius Adebayo, has described Agbeyewa Farms as a national benchmark for mechanised agriculture and public-private partnership, following an official inspection tour of the company’s operations in Ekiti State.
Engr. Adebayo, accompanied by senior officials of NALDA, visited Agbeyewa Farms in Ipao before inspecting the 1,200-hectare NALDA Agricultural Mechanisation Estate located in the Oke-Ako and Irele communities of Ikole Local Government Area.
Speaking during the tour, the NALDA Executive Secretary said Agbeyewa Farms exemplifies how strategic collaboration between government and the private sector can drive agricultural transformation, enhance food security, create jobs, and stimulate rural economic development. 
“It is exciting to witness the remarkable work being done at Agbeyewa Farms,” he said. “My first visit here completely changed my perspective. I used to look at foreign farms as models of what Nigeria could achieve, but after seeing the level of commitment and innovation here, I became convinced that this initiative deserved every necessary support.”
He stressed that the Federal Government remains committed to creating an enabling environment for Agbeyewa Farms to become a source of national pride and a leading agricultural model across Africa and beyond.
“The government’s responsibility is to create an enabling environment for Agbeyewa Farms to become a pride of Nigeria, a pride of Africa, and a trailblazer globally. I congratulate Agbeyewa Farms, as well as the management and staff of NALDA, for ensuring the success of this partnership,” he added.
Engr. Adebayo also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the leadership that made the collaboration possible.
“This is why we signed a partnership covering 5,000 hectares of land with Agbeyewa Farms. Many organisations enter into agreements without implementation, but Agbeyewa has demonstrated genuine commitment by delivering results,” he stated.
In his remarks, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Agbeyewa Farms, Mr. Seyi “Oska” Aiyeleso, expressed appreciation to the NALDA Executive Secretary for repositioning the agency through visionary leadership and practical support for private-sector agribusinesses.
According to him, the Executive Secretary fulfilled his promise to strengthen the partnership by providing bulldozers for land preparation and recently approving Agbeyewa Farms as NALDA’s mechanisation partner.
“When we signed our partnership agreement, the Executive Secretary assured us that we would experience the impact of a new NALDA, and he has fulfilled that promise. On behalf of our Chairman, Mr. Niyi John Olajide, we sincerely appreciate his commitment and outstanding support,” Aiyeleso said.
He noted that NALDA’s renewed approach has significantly accelerated the company’s operations and reaffirmed the commitment of Cavista Holdings and Agbeyewa Farms to building a world-class integrated agricultural enterprise that delivers sustainable value for farmers, host communities, and the Nigerian economy.
Also speaking, the Vice President of Operations at Agbeyewa Farms, Ms. Anthonia Attoh, thanked the Executive Secretary and the NALDA delegation for visiting the project sites to assess the progress of the partnership.
She reaffirmed the company’s commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and responsible collaboration, noting that Agbeyewa Farms would continue working with NALDA to expand mechanised agriculture, improve productivity, empower host communities, and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s food security agenda.
Earlier, the delegation inspected ongoing infrastructure and agricultural development projects at the NALDA Agricultural Mechanisation Estate in the Oke-Ako and Irele communities.
The estate, the first of its kind in Ekiti State, is being developed as a model mechanised agricultural hub equipped with high-capacity tractors, bulldozers, and other modern farming equipment. The facility has been officially handed over to Agbeyewa Farms to manage on behalf of the Federal Government under the supervision of NALDA.
As NALDA’s designated mechanisation partner and anchor operator under the Agricultural Mechanisation Model and the Renewed Hope Food Security Programme of the Tinubu administration, Agbeyewa Farms will oversee the implementation of the project.
