The Adekunle Ajasin University Alumni Association AAUA Ekiti State Chapter has announced its 2026 New Year Get Together, inviting all alumni members across generations to come together in a renewed spirit of unity, reflection and collective advancement.
In a press statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the Chapter, Mr Yemi Olajutemu, the association said the gathering is designed as more than a social reunion, but as a deliberate platform to strengthen bonds among members and deepen their shared commitment to the progress of both the alumni body and the wider Ekiti community.
According to the statement, the event will hold on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at Town Tavern Lounge, Ikere Road, beside Atlas Hotel, Ado Ekiti, with activities scheduled to commence by 4.30 pm. The association described the venue and timing as carefully selected to ensure convenience, comfort and broad participation by members.
Mr Olajutemu noted that the New Year Get Together reflects the vision and steady leadership of the Chapter Chairman, Mr Segun Adebayo, whose administration has consistently prioritised the welfare, relevance and professional growth of members. He said the Chairman has worked quietly and persistently to reposition the Ekiti State Chapter as a strong network of support, opportunity and shared purpose.

The statement highlighted that under Mr Adebayo’s leadership, the Chapter has recorded renewed enthusiasm among members, improved engagement across different graduating sets and a clearer focus on how alumni relationships can translate into tangible personal and collective benefits. It added that the Chairman’s approach has been anchored on inclusiveness, transparency and service.
The alumni body described the upcoming gathering as a continuation of these efforts, providing members with an opportunity to reconnect, exchange ideas and explore ways of leveraging their diverse experiences for mutual upliftment. It stressed that such interactions are essential for building trust, collaboration and a sense of belonging within the association.
Mr Olajutemu explained that beyond celebration, the event will serve as a space for reflection on the past year and a shared conversation about priorities for the year ahead. He said members will have the chance to contribute suggestions, identify areas of collaboration and strengthen the collective voice of the Chapter.
The statement further outlined the individual benefits of participation, noting that alumni gatherings often open doors to mentorship, professional networking, business partnerships and access to support systems that are difficult to build in isolation. It added that members stand to gain fresh perspectives, renewed motivation and meaningful connections that can positively influence their personal and professional journeys.
On a collective level, the association said the get together will reinforce unity and shared identity, which are critical for sustaining impactful alumni initiatives. It noted that a cohesive alumni body is better positioned to support its alma mater, contribute to community development and represent the university with pride and credibility.
The Chapter also emphasised that regular engagement among members helps to preserve institutional memory, bridge generational gaps and ensure continuity in values and objectives. It described the New Year Get Together as a symbolic and practical step towards nurturing this continuity.
Mr Olajutemu used the statement to call on all AAUA alumni resident in Ekiti State and beyond to prioritise attendance, describing their presence as a show of commitment to the collective strength of the association. He assured members of a warm, inclusive and well coordinated event that reflects the dignity and camaraderie of the AAUA alumni family.
The statement concluded by reaffirming the leadership’s resolve, under Mr Segun Adebayo, to continue advancing the interests of members individually and collectively. It expressed confidence that sustained participation and unity would further strengthen the Chapter’s relevance and impact in the years ahead.
