The Wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has reiterated her unwavering commitment to initiatives that support widows, aged, orphans, indigent persons, and young people, stressing that a compassionate society remains the foundation for sustainable prosperity.
Dr. Oyebanji made this known in Ado-Ekiti while receiving a Humanitarian Service Award from the Old Students’ Association of Saint Louis Grammar School, Ikere-Ekiti, as part of activities marking the 65th anniversary of the institution.
Represented at the event by her Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters, Mrs. Toyin Adepoju, the First Lady described the honour as a thoughtful recognition of collective efforts dedicated to service to humanity.
She noted that the award was not merely a personal honour, but a renewed call to deepen interventions targeted at improving the lives of the most vulnerable members of society.
According to her, Saint Louis Grammar School, Ikere-Ekiti, has for 65 years stood as a beacon of excellence, discipline and the empowerment of the girl-child.
She added that the enduring legacy of the institution aligns perfectly with her vision, which places education and the upliftment of women and girls at the heart of efforts to combat poverty, ignorance, and inequality.
Dr. Oyebanji emphasized that investing in education and social welfare remains a powerful tool for building a more equitable and progressive society, noting that her various humanitarian initiatives across Ekiti State are driven by a deep belief in inclusive development.
“As you celebrate this remarkable 65th anniversary, I pray that God continues to bless your efforts, strengthen your impact and keep the light of Saint Louis Grammar School shining for generations to come”. She said.
Earlier in her remarks, the President of the Old Students’ Association, Mrs. Ayodeji Fadugba, highlighted several projects executed by the association to support the growth and development of the school.
She said it included the construction of hostel buildings to ease student congestion, laboratories, administrative blocks, boreholes, and other infrastructural improvements.
She commended the Ekiti State First Lady for her compassion-driven leadership and consistent support for education, women empowerment, and humanitarian causes, describing her as a worthy recipient of the award.
