The Ekiti State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty of CP Falade Adegoroye Michael as the new Commissioner of Police in the state.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abutu Sunday, the Command said the new CP has officially taken over leadership from the immediate past Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police. According to the statement, CP Falade, a native of Atakumosa West Local Government Area of Osun State, brings to Ekiti a wealth of experience, professionalism, and academic excellence. He holds a First Class degree in Mathematics Education from Obafemi Awolowo University.

The new Commissioner of Police began his career in the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police after training at the Nigeria Police Academy. Over the years, he has served in several strategic capacities across the country. Until his recent posting, CP Falade was the Commissioner of Police in charge of K9 at Dei-Dei, Abuja. He also served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in both Niger and Taraba State Commands.
His extensive service record includes roles as Area Commander in Zamfara and Ihiala, Anambra State, as well as Assistant Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Imo State. He also held key operational and administrative positions, including Divisional Police Officer in Elemoro, Lagos, and Officer-in-Charge of Human Rights at SCID Panti, Lagos.
The statement further highlighted that CP Falade has undergone numerous professional trainings aimed at enhancing his leadership and operational capacity. These include the Strategic Leadership Command Course at the National Institute of Police Studies, Abuja; Tactical Leadership Command Course in Lagos; Human Rights Course; Financial Management Course at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, Badagry; and the Advanced Detective Course in Jos.
Described as a seasoned officer, CP Falade is a Fellow of the National Institute of Police Studies and a member of several professional bodies.
The Command expressed confidence in his ability to strengthen security architecture in Ekiti State, noting that his wealth of experience would be instrumental in tackling crime and ensuring the safety of lives and property.
CP Falade is married and blessed with children.
