The ward-to-ward tour of Senator Ayo Arise, a leading contender for the Ekiti North Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 National Assembly elections, continued to gather remarkable momentum on Friday as it moved into Ikole Local Government Area.
In it’s third day, the tour has successfully covered four local governments — Ido-Osi, Moba, Ilejemeje, and Ikole — with Ikole recording one of the most resounding receptions so far. Across all wards visited, enthusiastic and mammoth crowds turned out in large numbers to welcome the former senator, reaffirming strong grassroots confidence in his candidacy.
Engaging directly with party members and residents, Arise listened to their concerns while reiterating his commitment to delivering greater dividends of democracy, enhancing federal presence, and prioritising the welfare of the people. He also canvassed continued support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aligning his vision with ongoing efforts to deepen development at both state and national levels.
At Ikole Wards 1 and 2, Arise expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering loyalty of residents to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He commended key stakeholders, including Commissioner for Finance, Akin Oyebode, and Commissioner for Health, Prof. Oyebanji Filani, for their impactful contributions to the state’s growth.

Speaking on behalf of party faithful, Hon. Olubunmi Oluboba (Ward 1) urged residents to ensure proper registration and preparedness for the primaries, noting that Arise’s proven track record makes him the most credible candidate to drive further development in Ekiti North.
Community leaders also highlighted Arise’s past interventions, with Mr. Asagunla Olumide Anthony citing several infrastructural projects credited to the former senator, including key building developments within Ikole. Ward chairmen across Wards 1 and 2 encouraged Arise to sustain his developmental strides and remain committed to the community if elected.
Responding, Senator Arise pledged to facilitate the establishment of a full-fledged university in Ikole, noting that upgrading the existing campus would significantly boost economic and social activities in the area. The commitment resonated strongly in Wards 4 and 5, where community leaders, including Prince Adeleye Saka Adebayo, emphasised the need for inclusive governance, youth empowerment, and equitable distribution of democratic dividends.
At Ijesa-Isu Ward 7, Arise assured residents of effective and impactful representation, promising to justify their trust. Earlier, he paid a courtesy visit to former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Paul Alabi, who commended his notable contributions at the 6th National Assembly. Speaking for the community, Hon. Olufunke Owoseeni described Ijesa-Isu as politically vibrant and forward-thinking, urging Arise to prioritise the upgrade of the Ikole campus into a full-fledged university. She also appealed to the state government to address road infrastructure challenges in the area.
At Odo-Oro Wards 3 and 6, Arise applauded party members for strengthening the APC’s structure in Ekiti State and expressed confidence that ongoing government interventions would soon improve road networks across Ikole Local Government. Ward chairmen, Mr. Babatunde Ayeni and Mr. Bidemi Oluwagbemi, offered prayers for his success while acknowledging the importance of unity within the party. Senator Arise stressed that legislative experience and ranking remain critical in attracting meaningful federal benefits to constituents.
At Itapaji/Iyemero Ward 12, Arise promised to facilitate access to potable water through the development of the Itapaji Dam. He also pledged to expand the reach of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) to benefit more communities, reaffirming his strong commitment to education and improved living standards. Party leaders, including Chairman Ajayi Olalekan and Mrs. Veronica Salami, pledged their unwavering support while urging him to remain focused on the needs of the people.
In Wards 10 and 11, covering Ipao, Oke-Ako, and Irele, community leader Mrs. Ojo Funmilayo Grace (Yeye Ewi Esi) commended Arise’s engagement and called for increased attention to gender inclusion and equitable development. Similarly, in Wards 8 and 9 (Odo-Ayedun/Ayebode), prominent leaders including Alaja Aladetuyi Funso, Chief Mrs. Aarinola, and Chief Mrs. Adalumo applauded Arise’s leadership qualities and advocated for enhanced women and youth empowerment initiatives.
Reaffirming his vision, Senator Arise emphasised that his ambition is driven by a genuine desire to deliver quality representation and ensure that the people of Ekiti North fully benefit from good governance. He also prayed for sustained peace, unity, and progress across Ekiti State. With growing endorsements, heightened grassroots mobilisation, and overwhelming public reception, Arise’s ward tour continues to solidify his position as a formidable force in the race for the Ekiti North Senatorial seat in 2027.
