The Pa Olofinbiyi James Kolawole Foundation, in collaboration with the Adolescent Friendly Research Initiative and Care (ADOLFRIC), will on Friday, July 24, 2026, honour exceptional science students from secondary schools in Otun-Ekiti community through its 2026 Secondary School Excellence Prizes.
The awards ceremony, scheduled to take place at Otun Comprehensive High School, Otun-Ekiti, is organised in memory of the late Pa Olofinbiyi James Kolawole, an Iworoko-Ekiti-born educationist, community development advocate and human builder whose contributions to education and youth development continue to inspire many.
According to a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti by the Director of Corporate Affairs and Social Responsibility of the Foundation, P.A. Osakinle, the initiative is aimed at recognising and rewarding students who have distinguished themselves academically in science subjects while encouraging healthy competition and inspiring future scientists, innovators and leaders.
The statement quoted the Chief Executive Officer of ADOLFRIC, Prof. Babatunde Olofinbiyi, as saying that the Excellence Prizes underscore the Foundation’s commitment to promoting science education and investing in the future of society through academic excellence.
The awards will be presented in four categories: Best Science Student (Senior Secondary School), Best Science Student (Junior Secondary School), Best Female Science Student (Senior Secondary School), and Best Female Science Student (Junior Secondary School).
Prof. Olofinbiyi noted that the Foundation believes recognising outstanding academic achievement is a strategic investment in societal development, adding that the initiative is designed to promote diligence, discipline, integrity and the pursuit of excellence among young learners.
The statement further disclosed that government officials, traditional rulers, school administrators, teachers, parents, students, community leaders, development partners and members of the public have been invited to attend the event in celebration of academic excellence and to honour the enduring legacy of the late Pa Olofinbiyi James Kolawole.
Osakinle described the ceremony as a landmark event that reflects the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to educational development and youth empowerment in Ekiti State.
