Senator Ayo Arise has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, following a Federal High Court judgement in Abuja affirming his candidacy as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the June 20, 2026 governorship election.
In a statement issued by his media office on Thursday, Arise described the court’s verdict as a welcome development that reinforces the legitimacy of Oyebanji’s emergence as the party’s candidate. He noted that the judgement provides clarity and strengthens the party’s position ahead of the forthcoming poll.
Senator Arise who is seeking re-election to represent the good people of Ekiti North Senatorial District in 2027 commended the judiciary for its role in upholding due process, adding that the judgement offers an opportunity for members of the APC to close ranks and focus on the collective goal of electoral success. While rejoicing with the governor, party leaders and the people of Ekiti State, Arise called on all aggrieved members to put aside differences arising from the pre-election litigations and work together in the interest of the party.
He emphasised that unity within the APC remains crucial, not only for victory in the June 20 governorship election but also for sustaining good governance and developmental strides in the state.
Arise further urged party faithful to mobilise support across all communities, stressing that a united front would enhance the chances of the APC at the polls and contribute to broader political stability.
He also encouraged members to align with the larger vision of the party at the national level, expressing confidence in the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to him, cohesion within the party structure at both state and national levels will be instrumental in consolidating electoral gains and advancing the APC’s agenda for growth and development.
The statement concluded with a call for continued support for Governor Oyebanji, urging stakeholders to remain committed to peace, unity and progress as the state prepares for the governorship election.
