The Management of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere-Ekiti, has issued a clarification regarding reports linking a recent fatal stampede to its Second Convocation Ceremony.
In a statement released by the Registrar, Mrs. F.A. Adeusi, the University described such reports as misleading, stressing that no stampede or violent incident occurred at the convocation venue or anywhere within the University premises during or after the ceremony.

The University confirmed, with deep regret, the death of two of its graduands and another student in the incident. It expressed heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the deceased, noting that the entire University community shares in the grief.
BOUESTI further urged the media and the public to verify facts before publication and avoid linking the unfortunate occurrence to the University’s official event or venue, emphasizing that such claims are inaccurate. The institution reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, order, and integrity in all its activities.
