The Wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has called on Christian leaders across the state to recommit themselves to the core message of the Gospel and intensify prayers for peace and continuity as the state approaches its governorship election.
She made the call while addressing ministers and their spouses at the 2026 Ministers & Spouses Conference organized by The Lord’s Basket Outreach in collaboration with the Christian Association of Nigeria in Ado Ekiti.
Speaking at the well-attended gathering, the First Lady expressed profound gratitude for the opportunity to address the Christian community, as she described the conference theme, “Recovering the Power of the Gospel,” as both timely and deeply significant in a rapidly changing world.
Quoting Romans 1:16, she emphasized that the Gospel remains the ultimate instrument of transformation for individuals and society, noting that restoring its power would bring renewal to homes, communities, and the nation at large.

Dr. Oyebanji also conveyed greetings from her husband, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, stating that the governor holds the Christian clergy in high regard and appreciates their unwavering spiritual support for his administration.
The wife of the Governor commended religious leaders for their consistent prayers, describing them as a “pillar of strength” behind the achievements recorded by the present government.
According to her, the developmental strides witnessed in Ekiti State are largely attributable to God-fearing leadership and divine guidance.
“As we approach the forthcoming governorship election, we humbly covet your continued intercession”. She said.
The First Lady further encouraged ministers to leverage technology by organizing online prayer meetings, noting that the world has become a global village and that such platforms offer both accessibility and security in uncertain times.
She also urged citizens to remain security-conscious and vigilant, stressing the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding communities.
The event drew ministers of the Gospel and Christian faithful from across Ekiti State, serving as a platform for spiritual renewal, reflection and unity within the Christian community.
Earlier in his remark, the state Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter Dr Emmanuel Aribasoye appreciated the present administration in the state for being passionate about religious activities saying such remained one of the important ways of drawing the attention of God to achieve positive results in all ramifications.
