The Citizens in Politics Assembly, CIPA, a political support group affiliated with the All Progressives Congress, APC, has constituted its inaugural 15-member National Executive Council, NEC, on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
The inauguration formalizes CIPA’s transition from a founding initiative to a fully operational national organization. The council comprises professionals, technocrats, and zonal coordinators mandated to advance the group’s objectives across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones.
In a statement, by Director, Media and Publicity / National Public Relations Officer Citizens in Politics Assembly, CIPA, Ayodele Abere said the appointments reflect the organization’s commitment to ethical governance and principled leadership.
“CIPA is committed to demonstrating that governance can be conducted with integrity, that leadership can be guided by principle, and that citizens have a constructive role in shaping Nigeria’s democratic future,” the statement read.
Council Composition
Dr. Mrs. Abigail Olagbaye will serve as Director General and National Coordinator, providing overall strategic direction for the organization.
Other members of the council are: Arc. Chizoba Bankole, Director, Women Affairs; Engr. Femi Egunjobi, Director, Finance and Accounts and National Treasurer; Dr. David Oladipo, Director, Programmes, Training and Capacity Building; Dr. Hellen Thaddeus, Director, Secretariat and Administration and National Secretary; Mr. Ayodele Abere, Director, Media and Publicity and National Public Relations Officer; Arc. Okpakhalu Livingston Daniel, Director, Operations; Mr. Adesoji Gabriel, Director, Youth Affairs; Mr. Oche Silas, Director, Policy and Strategy; Mr. Leo Godman Onogu, Director, Audit and Risk; and Ms. Lois Auta, Director, Persons With Disabilities Affairs.
Zonal Coordinators appointed to the council are: Ambassador Ilodeipe Ogbokuma, South; Mr. Iranlode Olanipekun, South West; Mr. Yakubu Adamu, North West; and Mr. Musa Kwanda, NorthMandatemm
Mandate
According to CIPA, the NEC will promote ethical governance and transparent leadership, encourage citizen participation in politics within Nigeria’s democratic framework, and develop emerging leaders through training, mentorship, and institutional capacity-building programmes.
The council is also charged with upholding the organization’s integrity and ensuring the accountable implementation of its strategic goals and policy direction.
CIPA reaffirmed its alignment with the All Progressives Congress and its commitment to supporting democratic institutions, civic education, leadership development, and public accountability at all levels of government.
The organization has invited members of the public, stakeholders, and partners across the country to engage with its activities as it commences nationwide mobilization.
