The speaker Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, has been impeached over allegation of gross misconduct by Eighteen members of the Assembly.
The House has immediately appointed, Hon Oludaisi Elemide as the new speaker.
In a notice of Impeachment made available to journalists, eighteen members signed the impeachment notice on ground of gross misconducts and other allegations.
Oluomo was reelected in June 2023. Recall that the former and new speakers are APC members.The composition of the Assembly is made up of 17 APC and 9 PDP members.
