Ekiti State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Chief Mrs Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe, has said full implementation of regulation and safety standards for establishment of Liquefied Petrolatum Gas Stations in the State will commence on 5th February, 2024.
The commissioner said, the move was to forestall occurrence of lives and properties threatening calamities due to inflammable and explosive nature of Liquefied Petrolatum Gas.
In a statement made available to journalists by the Commissioner in Ado-Ekiti on Friday says, the implementation was to ensure safety standards for establishment of liquefied gas stations for major marketers and retail outlets as well as boosting the Internally Generated Revenue of the State.
February 1st, 2024, the Commissioner and the management team of the ministry held a meeting with the consultant (ROTYEM & SAMERCY NIG. LTD), and representatives of the LPG Dealers including the Marketers in the State resolved to urgently commence Implementation of the life saving exercise.
The Statement added that the Management of Ministry of Environment & Natural Resources, through the initiatives is determined to surpass its revenue generation capacity of Ten Million as approved by the Treasury in the 2024 Revenue Budget of EKSEPA.
