The Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, has mourned the sudden demise of a People’s Democratic Party’s Chieftain and former Assembly Candidate in Ikere Local Government in the 2023 poll, Simi Olusola .
Simi, who was the PDP Assembly candidate in Ikere Constituency II in the 2023 governorship poll, died yesterday in far away United States of America.
In a statement signed by her Special Assistant on Media, Victor Ogunje, on Friday, Mrs Afuye, described Simi’s passing as highly mournful and devastating, saying she will be sorely missed by all her admirers.
Mrs Afuye sympathised with Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, Oba Adejimi Adu Alagbado, the entire PDP in Ikere Local Government and the deceased’s immediate family over the loss of this illustrious daughter of the land.
“On behalf of myself and my entire family, I sympathise with Simi Olusola’s family on her passing at her prime and I pray for the repose of her precious soul in the bosom of the lord.
“I want to say that her death was a painful and personal loss to me being a promising female politician from Ikere Ekiti, with unquenchable and glowing zeal to make positive impacts in the life of our people.
“Though, she was not a member of my party, but I cherished her carriage and endless courage in the way she played her political game.
“I pray that the good Lord shall console her family and grant them the requisite fortitude to bear this monumental loss”, Mrs Afuye prayed.
