Ekiti State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has swiftly responded to the recent heavy downpour that caused concerns across the region.
Commissioner for Environment in Ekiti State, Erelu Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe gave the assurance while fielding questions from journalists that the Ministry is committed to addressing environmental issues in the State.
“As promised, we have immediately mobilized and executed necessary interventions to restore normalcy within 24 hours of the rainfall subsiding”. She stated.
The commissioner further stated that the Ministry’s efforts are focused on clearing blocked drainage systems and ensuring proper waste disposal to prevent further flooding and maintain a safe environment.
She reiterated that the proactive approach of the Ministry was aimed at reducing the risk of subsequent environmental hazards and ensuring community well-being.
Erelu Aluko-Ajisafe emphasized the Ministry’s dedication to delivering on its promises and ensuring a well-managed environment.
