The president of Hoteliers Association of Nigeria, Ekiti state chapter, Stephen Abimbola has called on operators of hotels who are yet to register to do so before the deadline of 2nd August, 2025.
Abimbola gave the directive on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti after the state government honoured its contingents for their outstanding performance at the National Adolescent Girls Initiative for learning and Empowerment (AGILE)
games held in Abuja.
Speaking with Journalists, the president explained that this initiative was part of the Tourism, Hospitality Licensing, and Regulation Law of 2020, aimed at ensuring security, quality, and compliance within the industry. “This registration is not just a formality; it’s a necessity,” he emphasized. “It guarantees your hotel’s legitimacy and commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of your clients.”
The hoteliers’ association chairman expressed gratitude to Governor Biodun Oyebanji for enforcing the regulatory law, which would ultimately benefit the people of Ekiti. “With this law in place, our citizens can rest assured of their safety whenever they lodge in hotels,” Abimbola said.
As the deadline near, Abimbola implored hotel owners to take immediate action and register with the association and Bureau of Tourism. “This is your chance to demonstrate your commitment to excellence and customer safety,” he encouraged. “Don’t wait until it’s too late.”
