Leaders and caucus members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State have officially endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term in office.
The endorsement was announced during a high-profile meeting, reflecting widespread support within the party.
The motion for Oyebanji’s second term was first introduced by members of the national caucus, with Rt. Hon. Femi Bamisile stating that Oyebanji has performed exceptionally well and earned the trust of party members.
This motion was subsequently supported by caucus leaders from Ekiti Central, North, and South senatorial districts.
Prominent figures such as Elder Igbalajobi, Prof. Falayi, and former party chairman Chief Jide Awe praised Oyebanji’s efforts in uniting a previously fractured party and highlighted his various developmental strides.
The meeting saw the presence of notable political leaders, including former governors Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, Senate leader Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Rt. Hon. Femi Bamisile, and Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Adeoye Aribasoye.
Additionally, former House of Representatives members for Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1, Bimbo Daramola, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, and former Deputy Governor Biodun Aluko were in attendance.
The leaders commended Governor Oyebanji’s dedication and achievements, emphasizing the importance of continuity in governance for sustained progress in Ekiti State.
The strong endorsement signals a united front within the APC as they prepare for the next gubernatorial election.
