The Ekiti state Chapter of Aquinas College, Akure Alumni Association has elected new excos for the smooth running of the association for a period of four years.
The election which took place at Inspiration Hotel, Ikere Ekiti on Friday had Aquinas Amos Sola Ojo as the Chairman, Aqr Jide Borode
Vice Chairman, Aqr Okungbowa Kehinde General secretary and Aqr Femi Dada as Public Relations Officer. Others are:
Aqr Omoyemi Anthony
Treasurer, Aqr Oloniboko Dare
Financial secretary, Aqr Dokun Abiodun Ex officio 1 and Aqr Jegede Vincent as Ex officio 2.
Speaking with journalists, the Chairman, Aquinas Amos Sola Ojo said his team of Executives would reposition Aquinas College with modern facilities that would enhance learning in the college.
” The dining hall will be renovated, equipped with modern facilities, sporting activities will be promoted ,We want to be the best in sports, such as football,hand ball, volley ball , and cricket. Also, we will bring back morals and integrity into the college. We need to invest in the school to show our gratitude to the school that produced us” .
The chairman who compared the standard of education in the olden days to modern education, charged teachers to properly monitor the progress of students they are teaching. While promising to motivate and encourage the teachers to give qualitative teachings.He added that children
of members who are indigent would be assisted .
On his part, the treasurer, said funds would be mobilized from members’ annual due, friends and eminent personalities to put in place modern infrastructures and equipment that would aid educational standards.
Also, a permanent secretary in Ekiti State, Aqr Jide Borode said the college would be given a facelift and enlist the support of the college management to instil morals on the students.
Members who distinguished themselves in serving the college were honoured with Awards of Excellence.
