The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) “Biodun Oyebanji, the winner of Ekiti State Governorship election having polled 187057 votes to defeat Segun Oni of Social Democratic Party who came second with 82211 votes.
The returning officer for the election the vice chancellor , University of Ibadan, Prof.Kayode Adebowale made the announcement. Prof. Adebowale said ” Oyebanji having scored the highest votes is hereby declared the winner and hereby returned elected as the governor -elect of Ekiti State.
The PDP candidate, Bisi Kolawole came third with 67457 votes while other 13 contestants followed.
Residents of Ado, Ikere, Ikogosi, ilupeju, oye Ekiti were agog as they trooped out to celebrate the victory of the emergence of APC candidate.
