The Vice-Chancellor, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Professor Victor Adeoluwa, has said that all Institutions need public relations values to guide each Institution in a way to steer them on the track of their mandate.
The Vice Chancellor made the remark when he received the leadership and members of the Ekiti State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, during a courtesy visit to his office at Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Professor Adeoluwa indicated his willingness for continued support to the ideals of the NIPR, stressing his commitment and desire that all members of the BOUESTI community are public relations agents for the Institution and not just the PR practitioners.
He however emphasized the need for the Ekiti State Chapter of NIPR to mobilize and carry along its members across the State for the public to have a good perception of what PR practice is all about. He noted that he had come to realise that the whole thing about the Public Relations profession is anchored on nothing else other than relationship.
Earlier in his remark, the Ekiti state chapter Chairman of the NIPR , Pastor Anthony Adesua, congratulated and appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and all other staff of the Institution for the giant strides recorded so far by BOUESTI adding that the unprecedented success recorded during the recent maiden convocation ceremony and other achievements being recorded in the University was second to none.
Adesua who also noted that BOUESTI had started well with its trail blazing efforts and innovations, appreciated management of the Institution for creating an enabling environment for the PR practice in the University. He particularly thanked the VC for growing the PR Directorate of the University even as he was led by example while demonstrating the ethos of public relations in the heart of every staff.
The Chairman used the occasion to solicit for sponsorship of NIPR Members in the University to the forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Institute holding in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State in May this year, describing it as an avenue where members interact and share ideas.
Reacting, Professor Adeoluwa said it’s a good thing to attend occasions that have to do with professional bodies.
