On the 10th of October, 1969, the family of late Alhaji and Alhaja Zakariyahu Akinleye Olohunde of Apena compound in Ede gave birth to a bouncing baby boy who was named Kazeem in line with Islamic tenets.
The little boy attended LA Primary school, Kajola, Ede between 1976 and 1982 after which he proceeded to Zumratul Adabiyyatul Kamaliyah in Ilorin where he acquired Arabic and Islamic knowledge under the tutelage of the renowned scholar, Sheikh Mohammed Kamaludeen between 1986 and 1990.
After completing his Arabic education, the knowledge-driven Kazeem Akinleye who personifies humility enrolled in Government High School, Adeta, Ilorin between 1991 and 1995 before returning to his ageing father at Agodo village to present his accomplishments in knowledge pursuit as a responsible son.
In 1998, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye ventured into politics when he contested and won the councillorship primary on the platform of the defunt All People’s Party, (APP) but was persuaded to step down for Mr. Azeez Bayonle by his leader, Late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke.
In 1999, Alhaji Akinleye was appointed as Supervisor For Education in Ede North Local Government and later served as Supervising Counselor for Works in 2003 at the same local government.
Borne out of his complete training in western and Arabic education, Alhaji Akinleye was found worthy to be elected Councilor was appointed as the leader of the House in Ede North Local Government in the year 2003 on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party PDP.
His popularity as an astute servant-leader began to shine like the brightness of the sun to such an extent that he was elected as Chairman of Ede North Local Government in 2008. Before 2008 and 2010 when he was steering the ship of the Local Government, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye touched many lives positively and was able to write his name in gold based on the level of infrastructural development witnessed in the council.
As a man driven by knowledge, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye proceeded to the prestigious University of Ibadan in 2013 after completing his term as local government chairman. He remained unduounted by the challenges of schooling as an adult and graduated on 14th November, 2017.
The man who personifies humility and selflessness in leadership is currently pursuing his post graduate studies to broaden his horizon.
Since his voyage into politics, Alahji Kazeem Akinleye proved to the world that he’s a loyal member of Adeleke Dynasty who has continued to support the family and is now seen as a gateway to the Adeleke Dynasty by many political pundits.
Tagged the “Captain”, Alhaji Akinleye was one of the incurable optimists who believes in the candidature of Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke to succeed his late brother and Asiwaju of Edeland when he contested as PDP candidate for the Senatorial Bye election in 2017 Osun Governorship election in 2018.
After the 2018 election, the former local government boss did not back down from his believe in the marketability of Senator Ademola Adeleke as Guber candidate which came to reality in 2022.
The captain was subsequently appointed as the Chief of Staff to Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke on 28th of November 2022.
Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye who played his role as a good child to his parents, dependable ally to his friends and associates as well as family members is happily married to Hajia Balikis Akinleye and blessed with promising children.
