Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Peju Babafemi has assured Ekiti people of her readiness to turn challenges of the ministry to opportunities .
Mrs Peju Babafemi in her first day in office gave the assurance on Monday while Fielding questions from Journalists. She said her ministry would partner social Organisations, relevant stakeholders, agencies and civil societies to better position the ministry in line with Governor Oyebanji’s agenda .
Earlier, the commissioner had received briefing from Directors of the ministry to ascertain areas of urgent interventions and drew plans on how to perform optimally. Mrs Peju said the briefing would not stop there, saying she would meet staff of the ministry and later embark on the spot asessment of facilities of the ministry.
She stressed further that she would not limit her operation to Government alone, saying Organisations and civil societies would be contacted for collaboration for efficient delivery.
Mrs Peju Babafemi who reiterated her resolve to provide right direction for her staff and work harmoniously with them to achieving developmental goals of the Governor .
According to her” It’s a privilege to serve as a politician, having served as Permanent Secrertary ministry of Women Affairs, Head of Service and Director. All as a civil servant. I will make tangible impacts on the lives of the people; women, Children, elderly, and the vulnerables, I will give the job my best shot”
She however charged the staff of the ministry to be more dedicated to duties. She added that Govenor Biodun Oyebanji wanted them to perform creditably well, saying to achieve the lofty goals it will not be business as usual .
She appreciated God and the Governor for finding her worthy of the appointment. She promised to put in her best for the betterment of Ekiti State
