Journalists in Ekiti State Ministry of Information and Values Orientation have organised a send-off ceremony in honour of some retired officers in the ministry.
The retired officers were: Mr. Oyetunde Oyebode, the immediate past Director of Information Services, Mr. Toyin Akode, the immediate past Director, General Publications, Mr. Jide Bello, the immediate past Director of Films and Video Censorship Department, Mr. Sunday Ogundana, a Chief Photographer and Mrs Yemisi Olatokun.
In his address , the Director of Information Services, Ministry of Information and Values Orientation, Mr. Charles Ademolaju appreciated God in the lives of the retired colleagues, with an expression of gratitude to them for contributing their quota to the service of Ekiti State, Nigeria as well as humanity.
He lauded doggedness and uprightness of the retirees when they were in active service.
The DIS stressed that the programme was held in honour of the retirees to celebrate them for serving the state civil service meritoriously.
Ademolaju also encouraged the serving Information Officers and other members of the ministry to imbibe the culture of uprightness, selflessness and professionalism for them to be celebrated one day.
A special editorial session was held in honour of the retirees to demonstrate their characters and attitudes while in the Civil Service of the state.
Many of the staff present at the event described the celebrants as dedicated, responsible and hard working during their active service.
Responding, the retired officers, Former Director, Films and video censorship Mr. Olajide Bello, Mr. Sunday Ogundana, Mrs Yemisi Olatokun,( represented by Mrs Oyebode Damilola) appreciated every member of the information family for deeming it necessary to celebrate them.
Present at the ceremony were Directors in the ministry, family and friends of the retired officers as well as Information Officers.
