The new leadership of the Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, Ekiti State Branch has sought the support of the state media towards achieving her set goals among which is ensuring improved access to quality healthcare at the grassroots.
The NMA Chairman in Ekiti State, Dr. Ifedayo Oreyemi made the plea when he led the new executive members of the association on a courtesy visit to the leadership of NUJ Ekiti State Council in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday.
According to him, the new NMA leadership in the State are committed to offer free medical outreach to residents of the State, particularly in the rural areas.
He noted that measures are been put in place to solicit the support of well-meaning sons and daughters of the State to key into the project.
The NMA Chairman went further to thank the Union for the partnership they have enjoyed over the years noting that the media plays a significant role in the State and the society.
He also seized the opportunity to solicit the partnership of NUJ to publicize their events.
Responding, the Chairman, NUJ, Ekiti State Council, Kayode Babatuyi hailed the association for deeming it necessary to reach out to members of the public towards having a healthy society.
According to him, “we are having a new NMA that is also concerned about the well-being of Nigerians. It is a very thoughtful one to go into the grassroots to give back to the society.
“We will use our platform to promote this initiative. I want to assure you that we will continue to partner and do more.”
