A leading aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial race for Ekiti North District, Ayo Arise, has commenced the second phase of his ward-to-ward consultation ahead of the party’s primary election scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026.
The renewed grassroots engagement is part of efforts to consolidate support across the 56 wards in the district and strengthen his campaign structure ahead of the crucial primary.

During the first round of consultations across Moba, Ido/Osi, Ilejemeje, Oye and Ikole Local Government Areas, Senator Arise donated N1 million to each ward. In the ongoing second phase of the tour, he is donating N500,000 per ward to support party mobilization and grassroots activities.
Addressing party members during the visitation, Arise reaffirmed his commitment to providing quality representation and attracting meaningful development projects to Ekiti North and the state at large if elected into the Senate.
He urged APC members to ignore what he described as misleading claims by political jobbers alleging that Biodun Oyebanji has endorsed a preferred aspirant for the senatorial ticket.
According to him, Governor Oyebanji has repeatedly dissociated himself from such claims and remains committed to a transparent and credible primary process.
The former lawmaker also expressed confidence in the ability of party members to conduct themselves peacefully during the exercise, assuring supporters that adequate measures would be put in place to resist any attempt by external forces or political agents to disrupt the primary election.
Arise maintained that the APC in Ekiti North remains united and capable of conducting a free, fair and rancour-free primary that would further strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
