The crisis rocking PDP in Ekiti state seems not to be abated, within 6 hours, the PDP executives appoint 2 Chairmen to steer the ship of the party in Ekiti State.
The Chairmanship brouhaha was sequel to the resignation of the former chairman, Hon. Bisi Kolawole who contested the governorship seat and lost to Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji of APC at the June 18 election.
Recalled, Precise news online had earlier reported the appointment of Engr. Alaba Agboola as substantive chairman of PDP by some executives of the party.
In a swift reaction, the PDP Publicity Secretary, Hon. Raphael Adeyanju rejected the appointment of Engr. Agboola. Saying, the purported appointment emanated from the former governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Ayodele Fayose .Hon. Adeyanju enjoined party members, supporters and general public to disregard the appointment.Saying, ” Since he (Fayose) cannot put something on nothing”
Hon. Adeyanju in a statement obtained by Precise news online heralded the resolution of Ekiti state PDP approval, ratification and appointment of Hon. Deji Ogunsakin, the former chairman of Ado Local Government and the former Deputy governorship candidate of PDP in 2018 election as the new Chairman.
According to the statement, the new approval of the appointment was signed by the Ekiti State Organising Secretary, Hon. Mrs Abeni Olayinka, Senatorial Secretary ( Ekiti Central) Hon. Ademola Alade and 5 Local Government Chairmen of the PDP.
The two group of executives hinged their action on Section 47,(6) of the party constitution which states” Where a vacancy occurs in any of the offices of the party, the executive committee shall appoint a qualified person from the area/zone where the former officer came from, to serve out the remainder of his/her tenure.
