The General Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Fountain Holdings Limited in charge of Ekiti State properties , Mr Oscar Seyi Ayeleso has debunked the rumour s in a video on social media that a piece of Land in Akure which is one of the assets of the state has been sold for 150 Million Naira.
An Akure based man in a 2 minutes and 50 Seconds video had alleged that a piece of land bought by the Fayose Administration in Alagbaka Area of Akure, Ondo State had been sold by Governor Fayemi’s aide with the knowledge of Fountain Holdings Limited.
Mr Seyi Ayeleso in a Press Statement made available to journalists, described the video as a total falsehood and an attempt by blackmailers to tarnish the good image of the Fayemi led administration.
He challenged the rumour monger and the man behind the video to come out with evidence or face the wrath of law.The CEO , Fountain Holdings said, “The ideal thing would have been to maintain golden silence in a situation like this. This unknown author couldn’t mention his name, neither did he show his face. This rabblerouser has to hide his identity to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.
But for the good of the public we have to respond officially to his innuendoes not to dignify him but to safe the public from manipulation”
Ayeleso charged members of the public to disregard the video as it is fit only for dustbin.
Oscar Ayeleso,stressed further that
“The land was allotted to Ekiti State through the issuance of Survey Plan and Certificate of Occupancy in 2004 and duly registered in the book of Ondo State Government. So it is not a land that can be sold in secrecy.
When land especially like the one in question located in the high brow part of Alagbaka is sold, necessary process such as payment of Government fees and such transaction will be documented in the State Land Registry. It is therefore easy for any reasonable person to find out the true position by going to the Land Registry to make necessary enquires.
Curiously, this blackmailer called on the legal luminary Àré Afe Babalola for help. He need not trouble Baba for that simple assignment. Àré Afe Babalola is not a frivolous person. He is a well respected Elder Stateman who is entitled to his peace. Let him engage a younger lawyer to carry out a search for him on the land.
Ayeleso posited that Freedom of Information Bill allows every citizen to seek information on any Government programme or project, saying, such person can equally go to the Ministry of Justice to activate his right to know.
The Fountain Holdings boss however said it was rather unfortunate that the goon has put his cart before the horse in carrying out his dubious enterprise.
Oscar added, ” Let him be advised to learn how to be a watchdog without necessarily commiting character assassination. Should he decide to continue in his campaigns of calumny, he should be bold enough to own his video by revealing his name and show his face. After all, the Yoruba proverbs says; _”Ti Ogun eni ba dani loju ama fin gba ori ni”_
