The Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has approved the termination of appointment of all his Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Technical Assistants and Executive Assistants with effect from 31st July 2022.
The Secretary to the State Government, Foluso Daramola, said the action was in line with state’s transition law, to allow payments of entitlements and terminal benefits of the political office holders as the administration was winding down.
In a statement made available to Journalists by the Permanent Secretary, TG Adejumo, on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government noted that the affected appointees were: All Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Technical Assistants and Executive Assistants.
The memo read in part, “A Transition Committee was constituted to, among others, evolve strategies for a smooth transition from the incumbent to the incoming government.
“One of the duties of the Committee in line with the Ekiti State Transition Law, is to ensure the payment of entitlements of political office holders including their terminal benefits.
The governor appreciated the appointees for their dedication to the growth and rapid development of Ekiti State. He wished them well in their future endeavours.
