In order to ensure adequate security of lives and properties, the chairman of Ifeloju Local Council Development Area, Ilupeju Ekiti, Hon Olusola Michael Oniyelu held stakeholders’ meeting with military and para-military officers on Wednesday at the LCDA secretariat.
The chairman who briefed PRECISE NEWS after the closed door meeting which lasted over 3 hours, said the meeting was to chat ways to curb the rising spate of insecurity in Ekiti state and Nigeria. Saying ‘life has no duplicate’, hence, pragmatic approaches need to be adopted.
Hon. Oniyelu stressed that resolutions and strategies adopted at the meeting would not be made public.” Myself and the management of Ifeloju have painstakingly listened to each sector’s briefing and we have x-rayed and analysed the practicality of the resolutions with a view to protecting our people and their properties”
The chairman reiterated his unwavering commitment to strengthen the security base of the LCDA while urging them to work together and re-double their efforts at ensuring that inhabitants of Ifeloju are free from attacks day and night.
While calling on community leaders and residents of Ilupeju, Itapa, Osin, Omu and Ijelu Ekiti to be security conscious, he urged them to give relevant information to appropriate authorities whenever they notice strange gatherings and movements. Hon Oniyelu added that security Officers will be seen frequently in all the communities, urging them not to be scared, saying their presence is for the safety of all and sundries.
While speaking on the killing of Onimojo, Elesun and abduction of students in Ekiti on Monday, Hon Oniyelu vehemently condemned the act. He said it was satanic, barbaric and unfortunate.The LCDA Boss commiserated with the immediate families of the deceased monarchs, communities and Ekiti state. He prayed for quick rescue of the students and sympathized with their parents.
Attendance at the security meeting include: Representatives of Nigeria Army, Police, Civil Defense Corps, Peace Corps, Road Safety Corps, DSS, ‘Amotekun’ and management staff of Ifeloju LCDA.
