“The Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun has done you a great deal of honour with this promotion. Don’t betray the confidence reposed in your ability.
” You have been rewarded for being hardworking and honest, try and improve on these virtues for you to have a more flourishing and progressive career”.

She harped on the need for the Federal Government to place high premium on improved welfare for security personnel in the country to serve as morale booster for better intelligence gathering to rout insurgents, bandits and kidnappers terrorising the nation.
Mrs Afuye appealed to the security agencies to continually give their best in spite of the challenges militating against their spirits to deliver in their chosen careers.
“The spate of insecurity in our dear country in the last few years had assumed a very bad dimension. It could have been worse, but for the commitments displayed by our army and police personnel at the battlefields.
“We are happy that gone were the days when our people were being mowed down by insurgents through regular bombings. Though, we are still experiencing occasional cases of banditry, kidnappings and killings, but the pace are gradually dwindling.
“I appeal to our security personnel not to allow any challenge confronting their careers to dampen their morales. They should continue to fight to protect Nigeria’s corporate image and sovereignty.
“As said during his inaugural speech on May 29, 2023, that the security personnel would now reap the fruits of their labour. I am more than confident that President Tinubu will live up to his bidding. The contributions of these men and officers will not be vain, they shall be rewarded for their sacrifices”.
Mrs Afuye appealed to all security formations in Ekiti to support Governor Oyebanji by redoubling their efforts to keep the tempo of peace being enjoyed in the state for improved investments and protection of lives and property.
