APC chieftain and 2026 governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Engr. Kayode Ojo, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the just concluded APC presidential primaries, commending the party for allowing his emergence through a democratic process.
The congratulatory message is contained in a statement signed by the spokesperson of the Kayode Ojo Campaign Organisation, Femi Awojobi, and made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti.
Ojo said the transparent conduct of the presidential primaries stands in sharp contrast to the unconstitutional disqualification of aspirants through financial inducement by politicians who feared defeat at the primaries. He noted that the decision is still hurting the APC’s cohesion and electoral strength in some states.
“The democratic process we witnessed at the presidential primaries is the right way to strengthen internal democracy and earn the trust of party members. What we experienced in Ekiti was different, and the fallout is still with us today,” Ojo stated.
He reaffirmed his unflinching support for President Tinubu and pledged to mobilize grassroots support for the administration’s policies and programmes in Ekiti State, the Southwest, and the country as a whole.
The politician stressed the need for President Tinubu to set up an unbiased investigative panel to look into the unholy relationship between some party executive members and people in positions of authority. He said the probe should address their desperate moves to submerge the interest of the masses and bring the culprits to book in order to save the party.
“President Tinubu has a clear mandate to push the Renewed Hope agenda forward. I assure him of my full backing and that of my supporters in Ekiti State, the Southwest, and beyond in ensuring the success of his policies for the benefit of all Nigerians,” he added.
Ojo urged party leaders in Ekiti to embrace the lessons from the presidential primaries and return to a process-driven approach that unites rather than divides the APC ahead of future elections.
