Motorists plying Itawure, Erio, Ijebujesha routes are having rough days as fallen articulated Trailers caused gridlock in the area making travellers to spend days on the road .
The Ekiti State Sector Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mr. Elijah Olusola Joseph who got information about the gridlock via radio said the State Government had deployed one crane to the place to remove the fallen articulated trailers from the road for easy passage.
The sector command promised to visit the scene so as to know temporary measure that can be proffered to ameliorate the suffering of motorists in the area.
He added “That is the present situation. Our men are there trying to bring the situations under control”.
“The problem has been on for like a week now and the FRSC Officials have always been there to follow up the situations there. And that is the best they can do because I had engaged the Federal Comptroller of Works and I was told that they have awarded the contracts because it’s a Federal road”.
“The Comptroller of Federal Works had awarded the contract of the road, the contractor is trying to mobilize to go and start work there”.
