Pharmacist Adedayo Oluwasanmi, an aspirant of the All Progressives Congress for the House of Representatives in Ekiti South Federal Constituency II, has intensified his grassroots consultations with a strong message of people centred representation, drawing widespread support from residents across Emure, Gboyin, and Ekiti East Local Government Areas ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The extensive consultation tour, which covered all ten wards in Gbonyin and Aiyekire axis, turned into a remarkable political moment as large crowds of party faithfuls, community leaders, youths, women groups, and non partisan residents gathered at every stop to receive the aspirant with enthusiasm and visible optimism about his candidacy.

From Ijan to Ilu Omoba, Aisegba to Imesi, and from Egbe to Ode Ekiti, the atmosphere remained vibrant and celebratory, with songs of unity and hope echoing across communities, reflecting what many described as a growing acceptance of Oluwasanmi’s ambition as a collective project owned by the people themselves.

Residents in their numbers openly declared that the aspiration of the pharmacist turned politician had gone beyond personal ambition, describing it instead as a people driven movement rooted in trust, familiarity, and a long standing record of service to the constituency.

Addressing the gatherings at various wards, Oluwasanmi assured the people that his emergence at the National Assembly would usher in a new era of responsive and impactful representation, anchored on addressing real socio economic challenges affecting the constituency.

He stressed that his aspiration was not conceived in isolation but inspired by a deep desire to complement ongoing development strides at both the federal and state levels, particularly under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji, whom he praised for their commitment to national and sub national development.

According to him, effective representation requires strong alignment and cooperation with the executive arm of government, noting that such synergy would enable him to attract meaningful federal presence and development projects to Ekiti South Federal Constituency II.

Oluwasanmi further explained that his legislative focus would include sponsoring people oriented bills and motions, while also ensuring that constituency development projects, empowerment initiatives, and accessibility to elected representatives become practical realities rather than campaign promises.

He emphasized that representation must go beyond the walls of the National Assembly, adding that constant engagement with constituents and deliberate interventions in their welfare would define his approach to public office.

In a tone that resonated deeply with his audience, he appealed for unity, love, and mutual acceptance among residents, stressing that collective progress can only be achieved when communities work together across political and social divides.

The impressive turnout recorded across the wards stood as a clear testament to the level of acceptance his candidacy has garnered, with many political observers noting that such organic mobilization is rare at the pre primary stage of electoral contests.

Stakeholders at the events repeatedly pointed to the calm and pleasant weather that accompanied the tour, describing it as symbolic of a favourable political atmosphere and a sign of alignment between the people’s aspirations and a higher sense of purpose.

Many residents who spoke during the engagements commended Oluwasanmi for his consistency in community development, recalling that his contributions to human capital development predate his political ambition and have touched lives across different segments of society.

Across the wards, the depth of elite and grassroots endorsement became even more evident as key leaders stepped forward to openly commend Oluwasanmi’s candidacy, describing him as a politically marketable figure whose appeal cuts across generations and social groups.

In Ijan Ward, Bamidele Bosede and Adeleye Ayodeji spoke of his steady rise and consistent engagement with the people, while in Iluomoba Ward, Afuye Idowu and Mayowa Ogundana emphasized that his name already resonates with credibility among the youth and party structure.
They described his philanthropic efforts as impactful and measurable, stating that his presence in the National Assembly would simply amplify an already existing commitment to service rather than introduce an unfamiliar agenda.

Similar sentiments were visible in Aisegba ward 1 and Aisegba 2 where Ogunleye Jacob, Ogunmoroti Ayomide, Gabriel Ogunjobi, and Osabusua Caroline respectively pointed to his accessibility and visible impact as reasons the people have embraced his ambition without hesitation.

In Egbe Iro Ward, Osanyintade Olajobi, Hon. Fadumiye Ayodele popularly known as Avenger, and Olaiya Idowu aligned their voices, insisting that Oluwasanmi’s connection with the grassroots remains unmatched and deeply rooted in years of direct intervention.

They maintained that his longstanding contributions to education support, small business funding, and social welfare over the past ten years have built a level of trust that positions him strongly for electoral success, while also assuring that the widespread acceptance seen during the tour would naturally translate into votes when the time comes.

The same wave of endorsement flowed through Ward 6 and the Ode axis, where Awogbemi Taiwo, Ajayi Bolaji, Hon. Oluwole, Owolabi Ojo, Hon. John Fagbemi, Mrs Jayeoba Moji, and Hon. Ojo Idowu described him as a product of a respected lineage who has further strengthened his name through a decade of visible philanthropy and community service.

In Ode 2, Ward 9, and Agbado Ward, leaders including Fasanmi Dare, Rt Hon Abe Adejoke, Pastor Olokunlola Sunday, Obadoye Yemi, Obayemi Samuel, Hon. Okunola Abiodun also known as Shadola, Hon. Bayo Ajorutu, Owolabi Idowu, and Falade Toyin reinforced the narrative that his aspiration reflects the will of the people rather than personal ambition.

They said that the momentum behind his candidacy is being driven not just by political calculations but by a genuine connection with the people, whose voices, expectations, and aspirations continue to shape the narrative of his journey toward the National Assembly.

Beneficiaries of his interventions shared personal testimonies of how he had supported students with bursaries and scholarships, assisted widows with relief materials, empowered farmers with agricultural inputs, and provided financial support to small scale entrepreneurs.

They maintained that these interventions were not politically motivated but driven by genuine compassion, noting that his track record has already demonstrated the kind of leadership he is likely to offer if elected into office.

Community leaders and political actors also revealed that Oluwasanmi’s decision to contest was largely influenced by persistent calls from residents who believed that his integrity, accessibility, and grassroots connection make him well suited for higher responsibility.

The reactions from across the wards were overwhelmingly positive, with chants of support and expressions of solidarity dominating the gatherings as people pledged to stand firmly behind his ambition throughout the electoral process.

In his interaction with party members, Oluwasanmi urged them to remain united and focused as the APC prepares for its primaries, assuring them that internal cohesion would be critical to securing victory in the general elections.

He also used the platform to rally support for the APC at all levels, calling on constituents to back President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election while also supporting Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the forthcoming governorship poll in Ekiti State.

According to him, continuity in leadership at both federal and state levels would ensure sustained development and create the enabling environment needed for legislative interventions to yield tangible benefits for the people.

Adding a personal dimension to the campaign, his mother, Pharm (Mrs ) Ajoke Oluwasanmi, also a pharmacist and retired Permanent Secretary in the state, spoke passionately about her son’s longstanding dedication to humanitarian service, revealing that his empowerment initiatives have been ongoing for several years.

She expressed confidence that he would remain committed to improving the welfare of the people if entrusted with public office, describing his aspiration as a natural extension of his lifelong passion for service.

Her remarks drew emotional responses from the crowd, many of whom nodded in agreement and reaffirmed their belief in the aspirant’s sincerity and capacity to deliver on his promises.

On behalf of party members, APC leaders across the visited wards pledged their full support for Oluwasanmi, describing him as a loyal party man with a proven record of service and a deep understanding of grassroots realities.

As the consultation tour continues to Ekiti East Local Government.
