The attention of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Ekiti State Chapter has been drawn to a publication circulating in the media space purporting to speak on behalf of the party in Ekiti State.
In a statement by the Media Coordinator and Publicity Secretary of the party in the State, Mr. Olawale Olatunde, the NDC Ekiti State Chapter categorically disclaims, dissociates itself from, and rejects the said publication in its entirety. The publication is false, unauthorized, and does not represent the official position of the NDC in Ekiti State.
For the avoidance of doubt, the said publication emanated from the camp of Mr. David Adesua and was not issued by, nor does it have the approval of, the leadership of the NDC Ekiti State Chapter.
The NDC Ekiti State Chapter states unequivocally that: Mr. David Adesua is not authorized to speak for, represent, or issue statements on behalf of the NDC Ekiti State Chapter.
Any attempt to present Mr. Adesua as a representative or spokesperson of the party is misleading, unauthorized, and contrary to the constitution of the party.
Consequently, Mr. Adesua is not recognized in any capacity to represent the NDC Ekiti State Chapter going forward.
The party further dissociates itself from any individual or group seeking to use the name, identity, or authority of the NDC for purposes inconsistent with the interests and objectives of the party.
The NDC Ekiti State Chapter will not hesitate to pursue appropriate legal and administrative remedies against any media organization, platform, or individual that knowingly publishes or disseminates unauthorized statements as official positions of the party.
The party notes with concern that newsmakermedia.com has been used as a platform for disseminating narratives containing allegations of perjury, impersonation, and false representation concerning the NDC Ekiti State Chapter.
We remind all media organizations that political reporting does not confer on any individual the authority to speak for a political party in the absence of the party’s express mandate. The media is urged to verify claims with the duly recognized leadership of the party before publication.
For the avoidance of doubt, Hon. Musa Arogundade remains the duly recognized State Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Ekiti State Chapter.
He, and representatives duly authorized by him or by the appropriate organs of the party, are the only persons vested with the authority to officially communicate on behalf of or represent the NDC Ekiti State Chapter.
Any statement issued by any other person without such authority should be disregarded in its entirety.
The party also deems it necessary to address attempts to misrepresent Dr. Ayodele Ayokunle Olusegun (Dr. AA), the NDC Senatorial Candidate for Ekiti South.
Dr. AA Olusegun has consistently demonstrated exemplary, selfless, and visionary leadership within the NDC Ekiti State Chapter. He remains at the forefront of grassroots mobilization, party building, and efforts to strengthen the NDC across Ekiti State.
Dr. AA Olusegun has also consistently spoken against activities he considers inimical to the growth and integrity of the party. It is therefore not surprising that malicious narratives are being fabricated to misrepresent his person and legitimate political activities.
The NDC Ekiti State Chapter urges the public to disregard such false, fabricated, and malicious narratives emanating from Mr. Adesua and his associates.
Contrary to insinuations by certain individuals, the NDC Ekiti State Chapter remains intact, united, and steadily growing.
This renewed momentum was demonstrated with the formal launch of the “AA4SENATE EKITI SOUTH” campaign by Dr. AA Olusegun making him the first candidate to officially commence political activities in Ekiti State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party encourages all other NDC candidates to emulate this proactive approach, deepen grassroots mobilization, and take the message of the NDC directly to the people.
As stated by Dr. AA Olusegun during a recent appearance on Aye Oselu: “Leadership must be about the people. Service must be dedicated to the people. From Ekiti South, we must begin the journey to RESCUE, REBUILD AND RISE NIGERIA. This is bigger than any individual. This is about the people, the party, and the future we desire.”
The NDC Ekiti State Chapter remains committed to this vision.
“TOGETHER, WE CAN
RESCUE • REBUILD • RISE NIGERIA
STARTING FROM EKITI SOUTH”
